2009 Remembering Nusrat concert - Afreen, Afreen

Kalyug - Jiya Dhadak Dhadak

Paap Mann Ki Lagan -john abraham

Following the death of the great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, an artist who reached out to millions of people across the globe, the mantle of Nusrat’s genius fell upon the shoulders of his nephew Rahat.

Rahat’s ecstatic vocals are the result of years of training at the feet of his superstar uncle, and he's also world-famous for his forays into Bollywood. After a sell-out performance with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in autumn 2009, Rahat now returns with his group of twelve musicians to perform a mixed repertoire of memorable Qawwalis and his greatest Bollywood hits, from ‘Akhiyan Udeek Diyaan’ and ‘Saason Ki Mala Se Simroon Mein’ to ‘Jag Soona Soona Laage’ and ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak’ from blockbuster film’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Kalyug’, respectively. Expect an unforgettable evening as he and his extraordinary ensemble transport us into the rapturous realms of spiritual discovery.

“Rahat's performance is simply larger than life", "this isn't just a concert, it's an act of worship.” The Guardian

"The Nephew and anointed disciple of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan spun a web of songs so mesmerising that one could almost feel the soul of the legendary sufi artist in the hall." Eastern Eye

"Rahat’s voice, like that of his uncle’s, is equally phenomenal. For one to employ the human voice as an actual instrument is beyond comprehension; it surpasses what is commonly known as singing, and becomes an elevated form of expression."
